It’s been a year since we are living under the threat of a new pandemic. Our energy, or at least mine, has been quite focused on maintaining us safe by following the basic rules. It is draining and brings anxiety however the art of having gratitude pulls us back with more strength from inside us.
At the start of this pandemic my thoughts were simple, I would have some quiet time. It would be a chance for me to rest. I loved the idea of being nested in my own home with my daughter and husband. However as the year passed by the thoughts weren’t so light. The mind was tired. Life was normal within the new normal but at my core, the worry was constant knocking my soul. Worried with me, husband, daughter and with my family separated by an ocean from me. Sadness surrounded me and kept whispering in my ears and I from time to time whispered back that there were so many people in such a much worse condition than me. This kept me going
By the end of the year I wanted just to sit, relax, don’t use my brain at all. I was in an apathetic mode. Art was left aside. Science too. I needed a rest and comedown my mind. My walks kept my spirits lifted. It was then that an artist, friend of mine, got in touch and she gave the idea of doing a project in gratitude. The composite of the art of having gratitude was born.
Gratitude composite
What thoughts did the word gratitude bring to me? First of all; health. My entire family is well thankfully. Second; doctors, nursers working hard without stop to save lives. I take my hat for them and think of their braveness to be there every single day in the worse environment possible to be. A huge example of selfless. Third; science. All the discoveries in such a short period of time. It will take us from this nightmare and bring our lives back to normal as we hope! Fourth; the educators. Being present and taking risk for our children. Fifth; all the frontline workers such as postmen, pharmacists, deliverymen. It would had been much harder without them. I am in the nest of my home with my entire family face to face or electronically protected by all the above and I am forever thankful.

Good to see you back at it Patricia! We sure do have a lot to be grateful for, even in these times of isolation. Thanks for the reminder.
