A few days ago my daughter asked me what I was preparing for Valentines day. At the time of the question, I hadn’t thought about it. I then decided to create a lockdown Valentines card as a point of start.
This is when digital illustration gives you freedom to do so. It is not only therapeutic but very practical. I started my design in Procreate, however I am still new to the program and I was taking ages. It is a brilliant software though and I want to learn more of it. I moved on to Affinity designer that I am used to and started putting my thoughts into practice. Another brilliant vector software that in the moment is on sale.
We are in February. It is cold. Therefore the theme would surround winter. We are in lockdown due to Covid19, so celebrations are only for the intimates cohabiting ;-). The way to represent this is to have the main subject locked, happy and with much love to give. 🙂
I used the pen and pencil tools for drawing the girl with her hearts’ bouquet and empty geometric tools, like circles and square added together, to draw the ‘glass’ container.
Bellow is the result of my first ever designed lockdown Valentines card. If you like it, you can have it. 🙂
