Gathering me up

This time I’ve decided to come with a concept that would depict gathering my pieces into a single one. My intention was to create a storytelling with the intent to show the need to gather ourselves, our thoughts from time to time, our dilemmas, our positions in this mad world we seem to be living in.

For this, I took a self portrait of my face and separately of my hands. I copied the layer of my face. One would be the normal background, just me laying on the floor. The second top layer would have me into slices. The slices were done with the ellipse tool used as paths. This way I could select the different paths I had saved and use them in layers where I would apply any adjustment I wanted. The hands were the last layer to be added where I positioned them in such a way it would look like they were gathering me up. The monochrome colour tones were used to emphasise the somber feeling of the concept.
