It’s been a good while I haven’t posted! Holidays and lots of thoughts into the direction I would take with regard to my art. I haven’t had much chance to go and take photos that I would use in my composites. The idea of mixing illustration with photographs is still quite strong. However, for such I really have to practice.
What would be the best way for practicing drawings and paintings? A project, a challenge! Here I am already into The 100 day project. Today marks the number 17! The creative project is painting and illustration. I won’t be showing all of them, but the ones I like the most.
The first one I am showing is well related to my love for conceptual and compositing. First I created a board of things that represent what I like. In the board I had a face of a woman, clouds, a skull in a shape of a moon and a tree. All the pictures were found in Pinterest. Profile by Birdie. Skull moon by Jonatha Art, and clouds by Ollebosse, tree by Wisdom wit quotes.
I positioned the different elements in the order I wanted my final image to be. Once the board was created I put it at the side of a new document in Photoshop. I sketched all the elements together and then painted the final illustration with a colour pellet that would trigger the feeling of down and mystery.
I quite liked the result, though I am quite aware I need practice, which I will have plenty of time for it! Nevertheless this one will be part of my illustration collection 😉
