It’s been almost two years we are living under this pandemic’s threat. We’ve been in several lockdowns and even with the rule’s relaxations I’ve been choosing the side of caution. Each of us is battling this situation in our own ways. What I am battling with is the distance I’ve been kept from my family that lives in the other side of the Atlantic. With the attempt to express this feeling using colour and certain imagination I created a composite.
The colour would be a light pastel one…to represent well my waiting, my longing after so many months being stuffed in a corner; cramped in an uncomfortable position. I also wanted to transmit to the viewers the feeling of being in the edge….as if in the edge of where I am now, ready to go to the other side where the family is. For this I had the idea to do a composite from part of my living room, which I then created a perspective blending effect. I then took a photo of myself in almost the same spot and composited it into the first photograph.
