It was Sunday morning in Glasgow. The sky was grey, heavy clouds, thousands of rain drops 😉 and a bit windy. The question was…what could we do?! Glasgow Green came in my mind and it was probably due to the recent news that People’s Palace and Winter Gardens is due to close permanently. My heart aches…is this really possible? Such a landmark that is central to Glasgow’s history and to the people that make Glasgow!
There we went and we had a lovely walk around. Under the carpet of a grey sky, standing magnificently still, we could see People’s Palace. We appreciated it from outside when I took this photo, which maybe will be the last one. As we stepped inside, we realised the number of people there with their families enjoying their day and walking around the wonderful Winter Gardens. We also stepped back in history when we got into the museum and we all learned a bit more of Glasgow’s history, mainly my daughter.
Glasgow Green won’t be the same…our memories will persist but a black mark will be left and sadly the next generation will be enlighten only by what books will tell about it…
