You might be asking why on earth I’m talking about Christmas now. Actually it is still with us, in our houses, unless you have dismantled the decoration already. I haven’t, as I normally do on 6 January.
While I was sitting in my living room, a sudden thought crossed my mind. Before the magic of Christmas fades away from my view, let me try to keep it a little longer by illustrating my Santa gnomes. One sitting happily in the floor while the other is hanging in the tree. It looks like they are talking to each other. Maybe they are already planning something.
Magic in a box
My imagination takes me to a big box where these gnomes are going to be enclosed amid shinny baubles, deers, icicles, bears, Robins and more. What kind of conversations do they embark on? Do they talk about humanity’s triviality and how they could turn us into creatures with a deeper link to nature? They are blessed with the power of magic upon them. They live eternally, they are light, destitute of superficiality and negativity. They are simple smiley creatures that fill the soul of those that want to, with magic.
Left outside the box
Meanwhile humanity is left outside the box, with part of it thinking of this temporary period of their lives. A new cycle, which starts with self reflection predominating their world, isolating them from the surroundings, and giving them a chance to think who they are – minuscule particles of mother Nature. Maybe this is the plan of these magical gnomes – spread sprinkles of crude reality for those that allow themselves to feel the whisper of nature suffering.
The other part of humanity doesn’t stop. They are already in first gear. They plan, they make promises. They have to act, and quick! They feel energetic, they live in a constant thread. They almost forget about the inner core of themselves and about their important counterpart, nature, that they are part of.
No matter what, the gnomes still sprinkle hope upon all of us, laughing friendly or in a naughty way, crossing their fingers that they will be with us at the end of this new cycle of life.
Imagination or reflection? Both!
Now you might be thinking what’s going on with my mental health. Absolutely nothing. I just have the magic inside me, the magic of a free child imagining a world beyond the mundane … a magic that gives life to all simple things surrounding this being with random thoughts 🙂
